About Us

  • Kyoto University Library established its Research and Development Laboratory (hereafter R & D Lab) in April 1996 in order to improve management and services of the libraries of schools and research institutions at the university. In January 2009, Prof. Takashi Koga became R & D Lab's first full time member.

Current Research Topics

Information Literacy Instruction

  • To promote the librariesf information literacy instruction activities, including "An Introduction to Information Retrieval" course for undergraduate students.

Information System

  • To conduct research activities toward the introduction of improved library systems.
