Use of Yoshida-South Library
Yoshida-South Library (Former“Library of Graduate School of Human and Environmental Studies, Faculty of Integrated Human Studies”) is the Library servicing departments among Yoshida-South Campus as well as students who are taking liberal arts and general education classes.
Since its establishment in 1897, Yoshida-South Library has been an integral part of Kyoto University history.
At that time, Kyoto University was known as Dai San Koto Gakko, meaning The Third High School, 1894-1949. In April 2014, it began administrating by five departments consisting of Yoshida-South Campus department.
The library now contains the valuable and historical collections from former schools.
The library also has a comprehensive range of books and documents which meet contemporary needs. Our comprehensive catalog which includes over 650,000 items helps our user study and research.
- Food, drink, smoking, and talking on cell phones are not permitted.
- Other behavior that annoys other library users will result in the suspension of library privileges.
- Do not leave valuables unattended when you leave your seat.
- Park bicycles and motorcycles in the designated places.
- A library card is required to pass through the entrance gate.
- Auditing students must apply for a special library card at the main library.
- Visitors must inquire regarding the procedure for entering the library.
- A buzzer will sound if library material is taken out of the library without following due procedure.
