[Kyoto University Library Network] Digital images of the Main Library of Kyoto University freely reusable
Digital images of the materials held by the Main Library of Kyoto University publicized on the Internet are freely reusable starting December 1, 2017. No application or fee is required.
Kyoto University has made a partial amendment to its rules on the duplication of library materials, in order to promote the use of the digital images created from our rare materials and publicized on the Internet as part of the Open Access Promotion Project. As a result of this revision of the rules, the digital images of materials held by the Main Library of Kyoto University publicized on the Internet are reusable without application or fee. Please refer to "Guide for Content Reuse" of Kyoto University Rare Materials Digital Archive for detail.
Many of the rare materials held by Kyoto University are used in publications or broadcasting. For example, Newe Zeyttung auss der Insel Japonien and Kunijo Kabuki Ekotoba are cited in textbooks for students. Kyoto University Rare Materials Digital Archive publicizes the digital images of over 3,700 titles of primary sources as of December 1.

[Kyoto University Library Network] Kyoto University Rare Materials Digital Archive formally started
This archive, compatible with the International Image Interoperability Framework, IIIF, provides access to 3,719 titles of digitized materials as of December 1. At the same time, the downloading function of the built-in Universal Viewer has become available, by which users can download a JPEG image with the longer side of the rectangle up to 2,000 pixels.
The other remaining data on the former digital library site, now being digitized materials and others will all be integrated into this archive in the coming years.

[Eng. and Lib. Network]About a new library at Katsura Campus
平成15年10月の桂キャンパス開学以来、桂キャンパスでは工学研究科の５つの図書室が運営されていますが、この度、これら５図書室を集約し、かつ全学的機能をもつエリア連携図書館として新たな図書館を建設することが決定しました。
建設場所はキャンパス中央に位置するBクラスター内で、京都市内を一望できる立地となっています。
現在、平成31年度の開館を目指して準備中です。
この桂図書館（仮称）では、桂キャンパス所属者のほとんどが大学院生や研究者であることから、研究支援サービスに重点をおくことを検討しています。
施設・設備面では、研究室的空間とは異なる多様なファシリティによって、学生の知的活動を促すとともに学外研究者との協働を促進することを目的としたオープンラボ、リサーチコモンズや、メディアクリエーションルームという「場」を提供し、人的サービスでは、ライティング支援、オープンアクセス支援、アーカイブ支援など、研究を進め、発表し、蓄積するという研究活動サイクルの各場面で必要とされる支援サービスを推進する予定です。

桂キャンパスの図書館建設について
