The Education Center for Japanese Language and Culture of the ILAS operates a Japanese Language Resource Room to support the learning of our international students.
Main Library has established a new "Books on Japan" section to enable more individuals to access books for Japanese language learning and understanding Japanese culture.
We have carefully selected materials recommended by Centre faculty members.
Alongside Japanese Language Resource Room, we hope you will find this section useful for your daily studies and research.

【附属図書館:お知らせ】附属図書館研究開発室セミナー「大学におけるAIと倫理」を開催します(2/16)
この度、附属図書研究開発室主催によりセミナー「大学におけるAIと倫理」を開催します。
AI(人工知能)技術の活用は急速に私たちの日常生活の一部になりつつありますが、AI技術の進歩がもたらす私たちの社会生活や思考パターンの変化は、まだ十分に明らかになっていません。一方で、プライバシーや著作権の侵害、差別やバイアスの助長をはじめ、AIを活用することによる新たな倫理的な課題については、すでに多く指摘されています。
本セミナーでは、3人の先生方のご講演を通して、特に大学というアカデミックな環境において、私たちがどのようにこれらの倫理問題に向き合いつつ、新しい教育環境を創出していくべきか、その道筋を探ります。

[Main Library] The library hours and services from January 13 to February 9, 2026
Main Library set January 13 (Tue.) to February 9 (Mon.), 2026 as the preparation period for the examination and will provide special services as follows.
1. 3F Library Hall is available as a study room
Hours are as follows:
- Weekdays 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
- Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays 10:00 a.m. - 30 minutes before the closing time
2. Extension of hours on weekends and holiday (January 24-25, 31-February 1st.)
The library will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the following days.
- 1/24 (Sat.)
- 1/25 (Sun.)
- 1/31 (Sat.)
- 2/1 (Sun.)

3. For non-KU users (including graduates)
Please refrain from entering the library because it is crowded with KU students for the period.

Open-stack Books:From 12th December to 22nd December.
**Please use MyKULINE to renew your loan. If another user has reserved the book, or if the book is overdue, you will not be able to renew it.

[Main Library] Talk event featuring pairs of humanities and sciences students (Dec. 1-5)
Wakatte-iitomo! (わかっていいとも!)
-One-Minute Research Talks: An Interdisciplinary Exchange Event for fellow students-
We shall hold a talk event where students from the humanities and sciences pair up to explain their research.
- presentation without slides or whiteboards by the speaker: 1 minute
- session with a mentor: 7 minutes
- Q&A session from the audience: 5minutes
After 13 minutes, all participants aim to "understand" the research in different fields.
The student giving the talk will change daily. Shall we pop over and listen to someone nearby's research?
(The language used in this event is Japanese.)
