[RIMS Library] Usage Restrictions Due to the Relocation of Journals (Jun. 8-16, 2026)

At the Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences Library, we will be rearranging journal collections in the basement stacks from Monday, June 8, through Tuesday, June 16.
Due to this work, access to foreign periodicals in the basement stacks will be restricted as follows.

265 items released this time were digitized under the project "Model Building in the Humanities through Data-Driven Problem Solving: Cultivating Next-Generation Humanities Research through Creation and Deployment of New Data Infrastructure (NIJL-DDH Project)," by the National Institute of Japanese Literature in which Kyoto University Library participates.

As of May 1st, 2026, Kyoto University Rare Materials Digital Archive provides 2,262,281 images of 27,455 titles.

Talk Event "Susumu Kitagawa × Zhuangzi" (project "What's Your 'Core Book'?)

Main Library will host a talk event with Professor Kitagawa as our guest speaker.
* This event is open to KU members only.

The theme of the event is "Core Books", that signifies the following:
- The books that shaped who you are today.
- The books that shaped your research.
- The books you want to talk about their appeal.

This is a valuable opportunity to hear about Professor Kitagawa's core book, Zhuangzi. We warmly invite you to attend.
The event will also feature a session between Professor Kitagawa and participants.

  • Tickets will be distributed from 8:30 a.m. on the day at the south entrance of the Learning Commons. (Limited to the first 50 attendees)
    Please present your Kyoto University ID or library card when picking up the ticket.
  • Doors open at 11:30. Please present your admission ticket at the north entrance of the Learning Commons.
  • Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis upon entry.
  • If you lose your admission ticket, it will not be reissued.

  • Seating capacity: 100, standing room available.
  • No registration is required. Doors open at 11:30, so please feel free to enter.
  • Should the venue reach full capacity, we may be unable to admit further guests.
