Issue with Viewing and Downloading PDFs in Select Gale Databases
Currently, we are experiencing a technical issue with viewing and downloading PDFs in select Gale databases.
Please refer to the details and affected databases below.
The vendor is currently working on restoring full functionality, and the system is expected to be recovered by August 1, 2026. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
1. Issue with Viewing Publisher PDFs on Article Pages
When trying to view the "Original Document (PDF)" tab on the article display screen, an error message appears and the PDF cannot be displayed.
Affected Databases:
Gale Literature
Gale Power Search (Cross-search platform for Gale OneFile databases, Gale Literature, Gale in Context databases, Gale eBooks, etc.)
2. Issue with Downloading PDFs on Article Pages
Clicking the download icon on the article display screen displays an error message, preventing the PDF file from being downloaded.
Workarounds:
Using the Print function: Click the Print icon and select "Save as PDF" (or "Print to PDF") as the destination to obtain the file.
