265 items released this time were digitized under the project "Model Building in the Humanities through Data-Driven Problem Solving: Cultivating Next-Generation Humanities Research through Creation and Deployment of New Data Infrastructure (NIJL-DDH Project)," by the National Institute of Japanese Literature in which Kyoto University Library participates.

As of May 1st, 2026, Kyoto University Rare Materials Digital Archive provides 2,262,281 images of 27,455 titles.

アーベル賞、京都賞、ノーベル賞、フィールズ賞、ラスカー賞……。自由の学風の下で優れた業績を挙げ、世界的な賞を贈られた研究者が京都大学には数多くいます。

しかし、彼らは「賞を取ること」を目的に研究の道を歩んできたわけではありません。学生時代は教科書や専門書で学問の基礎を学び、研究者になってからも無数の研究成果に触れ、自らの研究を推し進めます。その成果は論文や著作として世に問われ、さらに知を担う次の世代を育成する営みへとつながっていきます。世界的な賞の受賞は、そうした努力とプロセスの結果にすぎません。

京都大学図書館は、探究を続ける研究者と学生の隣で「知の循環」をサポートする役割を担っています。オープンアクセスを推進して研究成果を世界に開くこと、研究データの公開支援を通じて新たな活用に資すること、ラーニング・コモンズを整備し学生の主体的な学びを活性化すること、古典籍などの学術資源をデジタル化して将来へ受け継ぐこと……。これらはすべて知を次世代に継承し、未来の知の創出をサポートする仕事です。
