Kyoto University Library Network

Main Library set July 9 (Thu.) to August 5 (Wed.), 2026 as the preparation period for the examination and will provide special services as follows.

1. 3F Library Hall is available as a study room

Hours are as follows:

• Weekdays 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
• Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays 10:00 a.m. - 30 minutes before the closing time

2. Extension of hours on weekends and holiday (July 18-20, 25-26)

The library will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the following days.

• 7/18 (Sat.)
• 7/19 (Sun.)
• 7/20 (Mon.)
• 7/25 (Sat.)
• 7/26 (Sun.)

3. For non-KU users (including graduates)

Please refrain from entering the library because it is crowded with KU students for the period.

* For service during regular period, please refer to the "Guide for non-KU users" on the Kyoto University Library website.

Main Library and Yoshida-South Library will hold the long term loan for summer holiday.
* Journals are not included.

You are able to renew books were borrowed by long term loan for summer holiday after the periods.

As of June 25, 2026, Kyoto University Rare Materials Digital Archive provides 2,302,937 images of 27,621 titles.

“Wakatte-iitomo! (わかっていいとも！)” is a talk event where students from humanities and sciences pair up to explain their research.

Participants will act as Speaker and Mentor:
- Speaker: explain their research
- Mentor: liven up the discussion with questions and reactions

The speaker and mentor will discuss in front of the audience, bridging the gap between humanities and sciences.
They are supposed to discuss without using a presentation slide or whiteboard.
The point is devising a plan to explain their research clearly.

This event will be held from Monday, June 22 to Friday, June 26!
No reservation is required to attend as an audience. We'll be waiting for you at Learning Commons, Main Library !
