Main Library set July 9 (Thu.) to August 5 (Wed.), 2026 as the preparation period for the examination and will provide special services as follows.

1. 3F Library Hall is available as a study room

Hours are as follows:

  • Weekdays 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
  • Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays 10:00 a.m. - 30 minutes before the closing time

2. Extension of hours on weekends and holiday (July 18-20, 25-26)

The library will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the following days.

  • 7/25 (Sat.)

“Wakatte-iitomo! (わかっていいとも!)” is a talk event where students from humanities and sciences pair up to explain their research.

Participants will act as Speaker and Mentor:
- Speaker: explain their research
- Mentor: liven up the discussion with questions and reactions

The speaker and mentor will discuss in front of the audience, bridging the gap between humanities and sciences.
They are supposed to discuss without using a presentation slide or whiteboard.
The point is devising a plan to explain their research clearly.

This event will be held from Monday, June 22 to Friday, June 26!
No reservation is required to attend as an audience. We'll be waiting for you at Learning Commons, Main Library !

  2. Kyoto City Bus suspends its service entirely.

京都大学所蔵の「建内記」が重要文化財に指定されます

 京都大学附属図書館および総合博物館が所蔵する古記録「建内記(けんないき)」(自筆本)が、2026年3月26日の文化審議会の答申に基づき、新たに国の重要文化財(国宝・重要文化財(美術工芸品))に指定されることになりました。今後、官報での告示を経て正式に指定される見込みです。
 「建内記」は室町時代の政治・社会の情勢を伝える極めて貴重な史料です。研究者による「菊亭文庫」の調査成果が、このたびの重要文化財指定へと結実しました。

 

 「建内記」は、室町時代の貴族・内大臣の万里小路時房(までのこうじ ときふさ)の日記です。「建内記」は「けんだいき」とも読み、時房の法号「建聖院」と彼の極官「内大臣」に由来します。現存するのは1414(応永21)年から1455(康正元)年のうちの17年分です。

 「建内記」は、当時の朝廷・幕府政治の実像や土一揆の発生などを記録した重要史料として知られています。今回重要文化財指定の対象となったのは、附属図書館が所蔵する自筆本17点(菊亭文庫)と総合博物館が所蔵する2点(元文学部国史研究室蔵)および関連史料である附(つけたり)1点(菊亭文庫)です。

 「建内記」が含まれる「菊亭文庫」とは、西園寺家の一門である菊亭家(今出川家)に伝来した史料群で、大正時代に京都大学へ永久寄託されました。2020年度に新たな関係資料とともに改めて菊亭家から京都大学に寄贈されたことを契機に、翌年から上島享教授、大槻信教授(文学研究科)を中心に、学内外の研究者や大学院生、図書館職員等が協働して「菊亭文庫」の網羅的な調査を行っています。「菊亭文庫」の全体像を明らかにすることを目的とした調査の成果が、このたびの重要文化財指定へとつながりました。

 

 京都大学図書館機構では、所蔵する貴重な古典籍資料をデジタル化し、研究者のみならず市民の皆さんや世界中の方にも見ていただけるよう、オンラインで公開する取り組みを進めています。今回重要文化財に指定される「建内記」も、新たに「京都大学貴重資料デジタルアーカイブ」から公開を始めました。

 また、このたびの重要文化財指定を記念し、2026年9月に、京都大学総合博物館を会場に「建内記」のお披露目展示および講演会を開催する予定です。およそ600年の歴史を受け継いだ実際の自筆本を間近で閲覧できる貴重な機会となります。開催についての詳細は当サイトにてお知らせします。

Main Library has established a new "Books on Japan" section to enable more individuals to access books for Japanese language learning and understanding Japanese culture.
We have carefully selected materials recommended by Centre faculty members.

この度、附属図書研究開発室主催によりセミナー「大学におけるAIと倫理」を開催します

 AI(人工知能)技術の活用は急速に私たちの日常生活の一部になりつつありますがAI技術の進歩がもたらす私たちの社会生活や思考パターンの変化は、まだ十分に明らかになっていません。一方で、プライバシーや著作権の侵害、差別やバイアスの助長をはじめ、AIを活用することによる新たな倫理的な課題については、すでに多く指摘されています。
