The handwritten cookbook collection is also searchable by Handwritten Text Recognition.

In addition, the introduction of Module II. has added a foundation for studying the historical links
between food and identity, politics and power, gender, race and socioeconomic status.

In addition to the article content, the full-image newspapers offer searchable access to advertisements, editorials, cartoons, and classified ads that illuminate history.
